The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national-level management entrance exam. It is conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur, for admission to MBA/PGDM programs. With a remarkable legacy of over 70 years, XLRI has a task to find the most deserving candidates for its management programs through the XAT. XAT exams are usually scheduled on the first Sunday of January, and registration for the exam starts a few months before the examination is scheduled. The test is computer-based, and each section has a particular time limit. In 2025, the Essay Writing section will be removed, and hence the duration will be decreased by 10 minutes. 

XAT is one of the most difficult entrance exams. Its scores are highly valued. They are accepted by 11 XAMI member institutes, 83 associates, and over 600 top B-schools across India. XAT Entrance EXAM 2025 AGE LIMIT

There is no age limit for interested candidates to appear for XAT, and they can apply irrespective of their age. Both fresh graduates and working professionals can apply for the XAT exam. XAT aspirants have to meet a minimum qualification to be eligible for the exam.

XAT Entrance EXAM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Students applying for XAT must check the eligibility criteria and other academic requirements before preparing and applying for it. Candidates who do not meet the XAT eligibility criteria will not be selected for admission, irrespective of whether they have appeared for the exam or not.

Here is the list of criteria mentioned by XLRI-Jamshedpur to appear in the XAT exam.

  • Candidates need a bachelor’s degree of a minimum three-year duration or equivalent in any discipline from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
  • Candidates in their final year of a bachelor’s degree or awaiting their results are also eligible to appear for the XAT exam.
  • Candidates who are working professionals with a graduation or post-graduation degree and candidates with professional degrees (CA/CS) are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must note that colleges accepting XAT scores for admission have the eligibility criteria of a minimum of 50 percent in graduation (45 percent for reserved category students). Thus, they must aim to score above 50 percent in their bachelor’s degree programs.

XAT EXAM 2025 REGISTRATION PROCESS

Candidates follow these steps while filling out the XAT 2025 application form:

  • Candidates need to visit the official website of XAT.
  • Click on ‘New Registration’ and create your account.
  • Candidates need to enter the relevant details, such as name, email ID, and phone number.
  • Candidates receive a unique XAT ID and registration link at the verified email ID.
  • Click on the link to verify your registration.
  • Go to the XAT 2025 homepage and click on ‘login’.
  • Enter your email ID and password to open the application form.
  • Complete all mandatory fields and required documents for the XAT 2025 application form.
  • Cross-check all your information before clicking the submit button.
  • When the candidate submits the application form, pay the XAT 2025 application fee. Use a credit/debit card, UPI, or net banking.

XAT EXAM FEE 2025

Candidates must register for XAT 2025 at the official site by paying the fee by November 30, 2024. This year, the XAT fee is INR 2200 for all candidates.

XAT EXAM 2025 SYLLABUS

The XAT 2025 exam has four sections. They are Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. These are part of the paper. However, unlike other popular management entrance tests, XAT has a unique section: Decision Making. Also, the Verbal Ability section is the hardest in Indian exams. It has long, complex passages, poems, and tough verbal reasoning questions. Each question is worth 1 mark. Wrong answers will receive a negative marking of -0.25. Furthermore, if you skip more than 8 questions, the system will deduct -0.10 for each skipped question.

XAT EXAM 2025 EXAM PATTERN

XAT Exams 2025 will be conducted in CBT (Computer-Based Test) format. Test centers will be allotted to the candidates appearing in the XAT Exam 2025. Here are some important details regarding the XAT Exam 2025:

  • There will be a total of 95 questions divided into two sections. Section 1 is Decision Making, Verbal and Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation. Section 2 is General Knowledge and Essay Writing.
  • The XAT exam 2025 time limit is 3 hours and 30 minutes (210 minutes). Which has a section of 175 minutes, a keyboard check – of 5 minutes, and section 2 of 30 minutes.
  • The total number of questions expected is 100.
  • The mode of examination is in CBT (online).
  • The XAT marking scheme is that one mark is awarded for every correct answer. 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer. 0.10 marks are deducted for more than eight consecutive unanswered questions.

XAT EXAM 2025 ADMIT CARD

XAT admit card 2025 will be issued to registered candidates on December 20, 2024, as the exam date is January 5, 2025. The XAT 2025 admit card will have the candidate’s name, photo, roll number, test venue, and reporting time. It will have to be downloaded from the official website of XAT 2025. The XAT 2025 registration is now open. Candidates must submit the form by November 30, 2024. Only candidates who have registered for the exam will get the XAT 2025 admit card. Candidates must use their XAT 2025 registration credentials to download their admit cards. Test takers need to bring two printed copies of their XAT admit card 2025. Only a hard copy is accepted at the test center.

XAT EXAM 2025 RESULT

XLRI Jamshedpur will release the XAT result 2025, likely on 20 January 2025 at 1:00 pm. After the XAT result, candidates can access their scorecards online on the official exam website. To access the XAT scorecard 2025, candidates must sign in using their login credentials. The XAT result includes key details: the candidate’s name, registration number, exam date, XAT score, and percentiles.

The mode of releasing the XAT result is online. Log in to your XAT result with your XAT ID and date of birth. The validity of the XAT result is 1 year from the issue date on the official website. The issue of the XAT cut-off is 31 January 2025.

XAT EXAM 2025 SELECTION PROCESS

The XAT 2025 selection process should start in March 2025. This will be after the XAT 2025 cut-off, set for early February 2025. 

  • Each XAT institute has a unique XAT 2025 selection process. There is no centralized procedure for it. 
  • Candidates will be chosen based on their performance in the selection process. There is no fixed weight for any part of it.
  • Students who took the XAT exam and made the final merit list will be invited for XAT counseling. The next stage of the selection process will use the XLRI criteria.
  • It will include a Group Discussion (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI). 
  • The final merit list will be based on the candidates’ total scores in all stages of the XAT 2025 selection process.

DOCUMENT REQUIRED DURING THE XAT 2025 COUNSELING

At XAT 2025 counseling, candidates must carry a specific set of documents. Candidates should prepare a folder with the documents below. Also, bring two sets of photocopies of each document. Candidates must carry these documents with them at the time of counseling.

  • All academic scorecards (class 10, 12, and graduation levels).
  • XAT scorecard.
  • XAT 2025 admit card.
  • Original XAT Selection Process letter.
  • Bank draft as per the guidelines mentioned in the official brochure.
  • Caste certificate (if applicable).
  • Medical documents.
  • 4 to 6 passport-size photographs in color and black and white.

XAT 2025 ADMISSION PROCESS IN THE UNIVERSITY

The XAT admission process includes several steps after counseling. Shortlisted candidates will receive an offer letter from the college. After receiving the offer letter, candidates must follow the admission instructions. They must submit the fee and requirements on time.
